In short

Trick is the virtual assistant of Ski School Vialattea. It is an artificial intelligence system, not a person. It answers questions about lessons, prices, booking, the web app and contacts, using information prepared by the school and an OpenAI language model. It does not book for you and does not confirm availability: bookings are made on the school’s online shop. You can call or write to us at any time to talk to a person.

You are talking to an AI

“Ask Trick” is an automated chat. Answers are generated by an artificial intelligence system, not by an instructor or a member of the school office. Trick is the school’s mascot and its job is to help you choose and book your lesson.

How it works

  • AI model: OpenAI GPT language models (currently GPT-4o mini).
  • Platform: Supportfast.ai by Stepcode SRL, provided to the school by Principi S.r.l.
  • Knowledge base: documents and answers prepared and checked by the school (lessons, season prices and periods, booking, web app, contacts, general information about the Vialattea ski area). Trick answers only from this information.

What Trick can and cannot do

Trick can:

  • explain the types of lessons (private, group, half-day or full-day instructor, freeride, freestyle, snowboard);
  • tell you the season prices and periods published by the school;
  • give you the right link to book on the school’s online shop;
  • explain how to use the school’s web app;
  • give you the school’s contact details;
  • reply in Italian or English.

Trick cannot:

  • book, change or cancel a lesson, or confirm the availability of instructors and places: the shop does this when you book;
  • calculate binding quotes or totals;
  • sell ski passes or give ski pass prices, weather, slope or lift status: for these it refers you to the official Vialattea website;
  • make commitments on behalf of the school;
  • read files, images or other attachments;
  • handle emergencies (see below).

Emergencies

Trick is not an emergency service. In case of an accident or emergency on the slopes, call Vialattea slope rescue on +39 0122 799415 (or +39 0122 799414). For a medical emergency call 112.

Your data and privacy

Data controller: Neventi Srl, Viale della Rimembranza 2, 10064 Pinerolo (TO), Italy, VAT IT08661870017.

What data: the text of the messages you write, the chat language and technical conversation data (for example date and time). Trick does not ask for your name, email or phone number. Do not enter unnecessary personal data in the chat, especially health data, ID documents or payment details.

How it is processed:

  • messages are sent to the Supportfast.ai platform, whose main servers are in the European Union (Germany);
  • to generate the answer, the conversation text is processed by OpenAI models, which may process it in the United States. The transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses;
  • conversation data is not used to train artificial intelligence models, under Stepcode SRL’s contractual commitment.

Why: to answer your questions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual steps at your request) and to improve Trick’s answers by reviewing conversations (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the school’s legitimate interest in providing correct information).

How long: conversations are kept for 12 months and then deleted.

Your rights: you can request access to, rectification or erasure of your conversation, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing, by writing to info@scuolascivialattea.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it). For everything else, see our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy and limitations

Trick uses the information published by the school, updated every season. Like any artificial intelligence system, however, it can make mistakes or misunderstand a question. Prices, times and availability are confirmed only when you book on the shop. For important decisions, please check with the school office. Trick’s answers are not a binding offer.

Regulatory compliance

  • Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence (AI Act), Art. 50: transparency obligations for systems that interact with people;
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Privacy Code), as amended.

Availability

Trick is available 24/7, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance or technical issues. In that case, please contact us directly.
